Ramsgate and District Model Engineering Club
Minutes for the Spring Meeting
Held on the 5th April 2019.
Meeting opened at 19.31
Opening of meeting – Alan welcomed everyone to our Spring Meeting and thanked us all for attending.
Apologies for Absence – Dave Leahy
Minutes of the AGM – The minutes were read and accepted as correct. Acceptance of the minutes was proposed by Chris Kallmeier and seconded by Norman Murray.
Alan reported that we have possibly four new members, three of which gave their services for no charge in relation to project to change the bridge – see below – the fourth possible new returning member is James Kearsey.
Park and Locomotives
The club locos are all within their test dates, just! However, these expire soon and will need to be retested. Alan and Mick will be carrying out the necessary tests in due course.
Only one flint panel was completed last season, due to lack of members at the park. Hopefully the remaining five panels will be completed during this season.
A project that is currently being worked on is the bridge. The plan is to replace the lift out bridge with a rotating one that will enable one person to fit it without having to do any lifting. The first stage, that of burying a section of RSJ in the ground, has been completed and it is hoped that the remaining work will be completed shortly.
The Friends of Ellington Park are holding their May Fayre on Sunday May 19th.
Alan reminded everyone that our running schedule starts this Sunday – 7th April and invited everyone to come and play…
Correspondence – No correspondence to report.
Any Other Business – None.
Meeting Closed 19:38 – Followed by tea and cake.
